Why do some PDFs barely shrink?
This tool uses a structural rewrite that mainly removes redundant objects and duplicated resources. When almost all of the size comes from high-resolution scanned images, there is little left to reclaim.
Does compression change the text or layout?
No. Page content, fonts and layout are preserved, and text remains selectable and searchable.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no server-side limit. The practical ceiling depends on available browser memory, and documents of a few dozen megabytes are generally fine.
